The Belmont Trolley Barn revitalization project aims to celebrate the railroad roots of the city as well as create a functional space for greater community engagement. As part of C.L. Helt’s commitment to community enhancement, we were proud to be engaged for this unique project that is in our literal backyard.
We designed an authentic and multi-functional 1920’s era railroad barn that will house the refurbished trolley car and serve as a trolley museum narrating local railroad history. The design also includes an expansive covered trolley stop and pavilion that will be used for community functions and civic events. Lending our support in this community wide effort to bring the historic trolley back to life has been a fantastic reminder of how architecture can be the bridge between the past and the future.
